The Annual Sports Fest kicked-off, March 13, with team colors sprinting brightly at the School of Accountancy and Business Management Oval during the 100 M, 200 M, and 400 M dashes . The scorching weather did nothing to hinder the athletes towards topping the running tourneys.
SICAP (Men) and LIGHT (Women) trotted away to the Finals after garnering first berths for 100 M Dash. Left behind on their trail were: FINEX (M and W), JPIA (M and W), MDC (M) and SICAP (W), YES and LIGHT (M) landing second to fifth places, respectively.
Covering the tracks with burning soles, FINEX (M) and PESO ignited in the 200 M track with the shortest times. Creeping behind their shoulders were: JPIA (M) and FINEX (W), LIGHT (M) and RPG (W), MM (M) and JPIA(W) , SICAP (M and W), respectively.
Prepped and thirsting for the Finals cup, FINEX (M) and SICAP dominated the 400 M track. Finishing closely behind them were: LIGHT (M)and FINEX (W), YES (M) and RPG (W), SICAP (M) and LIGHT (W), PESO (M) and YES in order.
The Top 5 qualifiers are eligible to compete for the upcoming finals for each category on March 20.
The Sports Fest banners the theme: “Together, Everyone Achieves More: Uniting SABM as Family with Discipline, Teamwork and Excellence.”
With this mission, the Annual Sports Fest formally initiated with the Opening Program occurring before the games. Larmaine Macadangdang, 4th year Vice-Mayor, rendered opening prayers after the General Assembly and Parade, which was succeeded by opening remarks from SABM Governor Carlos Blanco and Words of Gratitude from Sports Fest Chairman and 3rd Year Mayor Robert Ginez.
Games will resume with some of the Finals Games and continuing sports happening the next week.
